Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what support her Department is providing to cities to grow their digital media industries.

The creative industries, including the digital media industries, are the fastest growing part of the UK’s economy. The Government is committed to ensuring that the creative industries continue to thrive nationwide, including in York.

This is why we are developing an ambitious Industrial Strategy that will drive growth across the country, bringing together local businesses as well as political and public sector leaders. We want to identify and support local specialisms and clusters of business. For many places, the creative industries will form a vital part of that thinking.
