The Government’s vision ‘Prevention is better than cure’ confirmed the Government’s view that our early experiences shape lifelong health with action need from before pregnancy and throughout childhood. The Government has confirmed, through the NHS Long Term Plan, that it will consider whether there is a stronger role for the National Health Service in commissioning health visitor services. The future of budgets outside of the NHS England resource settlement will be confirmed later this year at Spending Review 2019.
