Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, when her Department plans to publish new Immigration Rules and associated Guidance in response to the ruling in the Supreme Court case of MM & Ors v SSHD (2017).

The Supreme Court judgment in MM (Lebanon) & Others upheld the lawfulness under the European Convention on Human Rights of the minimum income requirement for partner visas. We are carefully considering what the Supreme Court said in relation to cases involving children and to exceptional cases where the minimum income requirement has not been met. We will make a further announcement in due course.
