Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, for what reason the Deposit Insurance Agency of Russia has not been sanctioned by the Government.

We do not speculate on future designations. We have already imposed severe restrictions on the Russian state's access to finance. We have blocked the Russian Government, and over 3 million Russian companies, from raising funds in the UK. We have blocked the Central Bank of Russia, Ministry of Finance and National Wealth Fund from accessing their overseas assets and foreign currency reserves. We have imposed asset freezes on 18 major banks with global assets worth £940 billion.
