Asylum: Special Educational Needs

Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many children asylum seekers have been assessed for special or additional educational needs in each of the last 12 months.

Our accommodation provider Mears ensure accommodation for asylum seekers in Northern Ireland who would otherwise be destitute. Our accommodation provider cooperates closely with the NI Department for Communities and the Housing Executive.
School eligibility would be a matter for the NI Department of Education.
