Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if he will make it his policy to ensure that Windrush compensation scheme payments will not be taken into account in eligibility assessments for means-tested benefits.

The Government Response to the Windrush Consultation states at paragraph 4.50 on page 39 that we will exempt Windrush compensation payments from the calculation for income related benefits. The Home Office has been working with colleagues in the Department for Work and Pensions to action this.
