Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of the exclusion of dedicated school services from the national bus fare cap on the cost of travel for families.

The National Bus Fare Cap scheme applies to eligible local bus services that are open to the general public. This means that services that only operate on school days, or whose primary purpose is to transport school children, are outside the scope of the scheme. Children can nevertheless benefit from capped fares when travelling on eligible local bus services.
