Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to the letter from the Deputy Prime Minister to the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments dated 2 May 2024, whether he plans to exempt (a) media appearances, (b) books and (c) journalism roles from Business Appointment Rules.

The government has committed to reviewing and updating the post-government employment rules. We will provide an update in due course.
