Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, when NHS England will publish its guidance on monkeypox vaccinations.
On 21 June 2022, the UK Health Security Agency published a specific vaccine strategy which recommends that gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men at higher risk of exposure to monkeypox should be offered the vaccine. Vaccines are also being offered to at risk healthcare workers.
On 23 June, NHS England and NHS Improvement published guidance for the operational delivery of vaccination for monkeypox. NHS England’s regional teams will work with systems and partners to establish locally appropriate services to offer pre-exposure vaccination to those at greatest risk.
