To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate he has made of the proportion of merchant ship survey work that will be carried out by accredited Recognised Organisations on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency following the UK Ship Register’s decision to expand its criteria for shipowner eligibility.

The proportion of merchant ship survey work that will be carried out by accredited Recognised Organisations on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency following the UK Ship Register’s decision to expand its criteria for shipowner eligibility, may increase as the Flag grows but it is not expected to have any significant impact.
