Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many (a) males and (b) females were (i) charged and (ii) convicted of child sexual abuse offences in each of the last five years in England and Wales.

The Home Office collects and holds data on the number of notifiable offences rec-orded by the police in England and Wales that result in a charge. However, from data held centrally, it is not possible to identify the number and personal character-istics of individuals charged or convicted.
