The Home Office does not produce guidance on single crewing. Decisions on patrol policy are for Chief Constables, working with directly accountable Police and Crime Commissioners who set the strategic direction for the force through their local police and crime plan. Chief constables keep their patrol policies under regular review and decide how best to respond to their local circumstances.
