Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many Erasmus+ participants she expects to enter the UK under the new immigration arrangements in each of the next five years.
The Erasmus+ programme is a reciprocal study and work exchange programme allowing participants to undertake placements in associated countries for a temporary period of up to 12 months. Participants coming to the UK will use existing immigration routes, including the Visitor, Student and Government Authorised Exchange routes.
Based on historic patterns, the Department for Education expect there to be more inbound than outbound Erasmus+ mobilities, given the UK is a popular destination for work and study.
