Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, if she will set out a timeline for decarbonising industry in order to support long term investment by hydrogen companies.

The Industrial Strategy, through the 10 Year Clean Energy Industries Sector Plan, backs hydrogen as a frontier technology. The associated Action Plan gives the green light to industry investors and the supply chain, announcing investment rounds and policies to turbocharge growth in the sector. Our understanding of where hydrogen can deliver the greatest value in our energy system has also matured and our renewed Hydrogen Strategy will set this out. We plan to publish the renewed Hydrogen Strategy as well as a new plan for industrial decarbonisation in due course.
