Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, if he will bring forward proposals to require companies making unsolicited telephone calls to state their telephone numbers when they call.

The Government takes the issue of unsolicited telephone calls very seriously and is considering such proposals as part of its work to tackle nuisance calls, including considering options of call blocking technology.
