Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether she plans to introduce a cap on charges and associated debt recovery fees imposed by private parking companies; and what assessment she has made of the impact of such charges on consumers.

In July 2025, the government published a consultation document including parking charges and debt recovery fee caps. The government aims to publish a response alongside the new Code, which it is aiming to lay before Parliament in autumn 2026.
