General Practitioners: Closures

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate he has made of the number of GP surgeries in receipt of funding under the Minimum Practice Income Guarantee in (a) England, (b) London, (c) the London Borough of Islington and (d) Islington South and Finsbury constituency which have closed since 1 April 2014.

It is important to note that these figures also include practices which have merged or been taken over and do not provide an accurate representation of activity or service provision. The data covers the period 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015, which is the most recent data available for the whole of England. It does not include closures or mergers after that period
