Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to her Department's consultation entitled Strengthening the regulation of commercial sunbeds in England, published 22 May 2026, whether it remains her Department's policy to introduce photographic ID checks for under 18s using sunbeds.

The consultation on strengthening the regulation of commercial sunbeds in England closed on 14 August. Responses to the consultation are currently being assessed, and the Government will provide a formal response setting out the findings and next steps in due course.
