Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what estimate his Department has made of the number of women with incompetent cervix condition.

Information is not collected in a way that would enable an assessment of the number of women that underwent loop electrosurgical excision procedures. Information is not collected centrally on the number of premature births linked to incompetent cervix conditions. A count of finished admission episodes (FAEs) with primary diagnosis of incompetent cervix, for female patients from 2016-17 to 2018-19 can be found in the following table.
