Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the research in the British Medical Journal by Stickels (et al.) entitled Aortic stenosis post-Covid-19: a mathematical model on waiting lists and mortality, published on 16 June 2022, if his Department will increase the provision of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for patients with aortic stenosis.
NHS England is currently finalising a revised commissioning position for the provision of transcatheter aortic valve implantation and surgical aortic valve replacement for symptomatic severe aortic stenosis in adults.
