Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the Answer of 8 September 2026 to Question 23403 on Prisons: Procurement, what change in reporting approach by the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority has resulted in a £1.28 billion saving in 2025/26.

As set out in the annual report, the change in reporting approach relates to all costs being reported in 2024/25 base prices in line with NISTA requirements. This is a change from previous years where costs were reported in nominal prices.
