Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, further to the HMT press release, "Chancellor backs young people into work by supporting jobs", of 28 September, if he will itemise the savings found by his Department for the Union Learning Fund, and in which financial years do they apply.
My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced that £15 million a year of additional funding will be allocated to restore the Union Learning Fund in England from next year.
The fund will help working people gain new skills, progress at work and adapt as technology, including AI, changes the workplace. It will draw on trade unions’ trusted workplace relationships to reach those people and help them access training through their employers and existing skills programmes. The costs of the Fund will be fully met from savings elsewhere in DWP. Further details will be provided at the Autumn Budget.
