Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his Answer of 17 May 2021 to Question 826 on Overseas Aid, what metrics his Department plans to use to determine whether the fiscal circumstances have sufficiently improved to return to spending 0.7 per cent of GNI on Official Development Assistance.

The Government intends to return to the 0.7% target when the fiscal situation allows. We cannot at this moment predict with certainty when the current fiscal circumstances will have sufficiently improved.
