Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether she has made an assessment of the potential merits of increasing the quantity of DIY waste that householders in England may dispose of free of charge at household waste recycling centres.

Responses to the 2022 Government consultation indicated larger quantities were more likely to be produced by traders than householders. A limit of two 50L rubble bags reflects small-scale DIY home improvements and, as material can only be presented in a 50L bag, is easy to measure. Local authorities determine implementation across HWRCs.
