Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps he will take as part of the national dementia strategy to enable greater participation in dementia research.

The Join Dementia Research platform, delivered by the National Institute for Health and Care Research with Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer Scotland and Alzheimer’s Research UK, allows people to register an interest in dementia research and be matched to trials. This aims to improve participation and diversity in dementia research.

We are currently reviewing plans for dementia in England and further information will be available in due course.
