Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, by when he plans to announce the shortlist for the light mobility programme.

The Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) Programme will deliver a modern and adaptable replacement for both the Pinzgauer and Land Rover fleets, the latter of which has served the UK Armed Forces admirably for over 70 years.

The LMV competition formally began on 31 July 2026 with the publication of the tender notice and Procurement Specific Questionnaire (PSQ). The PSQ used clear criteria to shortlist up to seven of the highest-scoring potential tenderers to proceed to the next stage of the competition. The competition is progressing as planned and all potential bidders have been informed of their status in the competition. The Department will announce the shortlisted tenderers for the next stage of the competition in due course.
