Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, whether her Department submitted evidence or received representations relating to the Premier League Disciplinary Commission into Manchester City Football Club.
No such representations have been made.
The Government has been clear that the Premier League’s charges against Manchester City are a process entirely independent of Government. It is essential that it is allowed to run its course and the outcome respected. Wherever wrongdoing is established, those responsible should face the appropriate consequences.
The Independent Football Regulator, who are fully independent from Government, have set out their own statement on the case and no have no further comment at this time.
