Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether her policy on Heathrow expansion remains the same as outlined in the Government press release, "New consultation sets foundations for Heathrow expansion to take off", of 18 June 2026.

The Government published the draft Heathrow Expansion National Policy Statement (HENPS) for consultation on 18 June 2026.

The consultation closed on 1 September 2026 and the Government is currently considering the responses received. The Transport Select Committee is also scrutinising the draft HENPS and has yet to publish its recommendations.

The Government will consider the Committee's recommendations alongside consultation responses before setting out its response and any next steps in relation to the HENPS in due course.
