Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, with reference to page 62 of stage two of the Schools National Funding Formula consultation, whether it remains her policy that from 2019-20, the national funding formula will be used to calculate the vast majority of each individual school's budget so that schools are predominantly funded through a consistent national approach without the additional layer of variation and complexity created by the current existence of a different formula in every local authority; and if she will make a statement.

The Government is determined to introduce a fairer funding formula. We are committed to ensure that no school has its budget cut as a result of the new formula.

We received over 25,000 responses to the consultation, which we are analysing in detail. We are grateful to all those who expressed their views on school funding and the proposed formula as part of this process. We will work with Parliament to bring forward proposals that command consensus and will publish the response to the consultation in due course.
