Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 8 September 2026 to question 23322 on Navy, what is the breakdown of the £2.7 billion reduction in Whole Life Cost broken down across the updated assumptions on a) scope, b) delivery and c) commercial arrangements.

The reduction in Whole Life Cost reflects the combined impact of updated assumptions relating to programme scope, delivery and commercial arrangements as the programme has matured. It would be inappropriate to provide granular detail of the breakdown of this reduction while commercial discussions and approval processes are ongoing and may lead to further refinement.
