Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what steps the Government is taking to ensure people are made aware of the performance standard of a home before purchase.

It is a mandatory requirement of the energy performance of building regulations for the seller or landlord to provide a prospective buyer or tenant with a copy of an Energy Performance Certificate which provides information about the energy performance of the building.
