Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many prisoners were released under the early release scheme between 1 October 2026 and 10 October 2026 (a) with an electronic tag fitted on release; (b) with an electronic tag fitted not upon release but within 48 hours of release; (c) with an electronic tag fitted more than 48 hours after release; or (d) with no tag fitted either upon release or thereafter.

The Ministry of Justice routinely publishes Official Statistics on electronic monitoring and on prisoner releases, as part of the Electronic Monitoring Statistics Quarterly and Offender Management Statistics Quarterly publications. The requested information forms a subset of the data underpinning total release statistics and monitoring statistics intended for future publication and, therefore, cannot be disclosed.
