The government has assessed the impact of the UK-India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement through its published Impact Assessment. The analysis suggests that changes in employment composition across sectors are small compared with regular labour market changes, with average sectoral market share changing by less than 0.01%.

The analysis shows a positive impact for UK workers through higher real wages, which, as a result of the agreement, are estimated to increase by 0.19%, equivalent to £2.2 billion a year when applied to total wages in 2024. The analysis undertaken does not quantify jobs created by the agreement.
