Question to the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, with reference to the Department’s press release entitled Joint Statement of 16th Meeting of the India–UK JETCO, published on 12 October 2026, how many businesses based in Essex have received support from the Department to access the Indian market since the agreement entered into force.

Since signature of the UK-India Free Trade Agreement, the Department has engaged with over 10,000 business representatives across the UK to raise awareness of the opportunities under the Agreement and support businesses to take advantage of its provisions. Businesses in Essex can access the Department’s full range of export support, including guidance and services available through business.gov.uk.
