To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what plans she has to update her policy on Emergency Lane Keeping Systems in new vehicles.

The Government plans to mandate emergency lane keeping systems in new mass-produced vehicles under the GB type approval scheme. On 16 July 2026, the Government published its response to the consultation on mandating vehicle safety technologies, confirming that emergency lane keeping systems will be introduced as part of a package of 18 safety technologies.
