Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether information arising from an investigation concerning Service personnel may constitute the sole or a material basis for a named adverse access-control entry concerning an associated civilian who is not the subject of that investigation; whether a separate recorded assessment of the civilian is required; and how records must distinguish the subject of an investigation from an associated person.

Given that one of the hon. Member's constituents currently has ongoing legal proceedings against the Department regarding these matters, it would be inappropriate to provide a response to these questions at this time.
