From April 2030 pensioners will be protected by an adjusted Triple Lock. The adjusted Triple Lock means the State Pension will always increase by at least the highest of 2.5%, CPI inflation or by more where needed to retain its value relative to earnings reached in April 2029.

This is part of a new settlement for older people: a rising State Pension alongside free personal care through a National Care Service. This will help local authorities and the NHS better support those needing social care.
