Motorways: Speed Limits

Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if she will take steps to provide a report on the issues associated with the smart motorway speed cameras.
This question was answered on 19th October 2026
In December 2025, the Secretary of State appointed Tracy Westall OBE to lead an independent review into how this technical anomaly came about to ensure that lessons can be learnt.
We intend to publish the independent review report in full and update the House once all relevant work associated with it is complete.
