Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, with reference to The Defence Investment Plan Funding explainer, published on 30 June 2026, if he can confirm whether his department is required to contribute to the funding laid out under line 5, “Reduce departmental capital budgets by one per cent”.

Departments have been asked to contribute 1% of their capital budgets to help fund the Defence Investment Plan. I can confirm that the Ministry of Justice is required to contribute to this.
