Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what her timescale is for decision making following the consultation on proposed changes to pre-charge bail published on 5 February 2020.
This question was answered on 28th April 2020
On the 5 February the Government launched a consultation on proposals to reform the use of pre-charge bail to protect victims and ensure the police are supported to investigate crimes. The consultation closes on 29 April.
The Government will respond to the consultation and set out next steps in due course.
