Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what estimate her Department has made of the annual cost to United Utilities customers of treating and distributing water subsequently lost through leakage from the company's network.

Water companies are responsible for understanding the operation, costs and delivery of their networks and investment plans. The Environment Agency assess the environmental performance of water and sewerage companies in England annually through their Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA).
