Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the guidance on immigration bail regarding electronic monitoring, if she will list the medical conditions that have been used in the past six months that have resulted in individuals not being fitted with an electronic monitoring tag while on immigration bail.
Details of instances where electronic monitoring was not applied due to medical conditions are not published.
The Immigration Bail policy sets out the considerations which govern the application, or not, of electronic monitoring as a condition of bail. That guidance sets out examples of medical conditions which ought to be considered as part of a case-by-case assessment. The guidance provides examples, not an exhaustive or absolute series of conditions.
