Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of safety risks posed by vehicles with elevated front-end profiles on the the visibility of vulnerable road and children.
The Government recognises concerns about the potential impact that the increasing size and front-end height of some vehicles may have on vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and children. The Department for Transport's Road Safety Strategy acknowledges these concerns and commits to working with stakeholders and vehicle manufacturers to further understand the safety implications of increasing vehicle size.
