Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps her Department is taking to support producers of long-stemmed straw used for thatching.

Historic England’s Traditional Thatch Project is working with thatching straw growers to understand the challenges they face and identify steps to increase the amount, viability and resilience of domestic thatching material supply.
