The Jobs Guarantee is one element of the Youth Guarantee. The scheme will provide long term unemployed young people with a fully funded six-month paid job. This will include tailored employability and in-work support to help participants succeed on the scheme and transition into sustained employment.

Phase One of the Jobs Guarantee launched in April 2026 in six areas across GB. A detailed breakdown of each of the six delivery areas for phase one, showing expected demand, are available here. Phase One is expected to support over 1,000 job starts.

The Department is actively monitoring the delivery of Phase One and collecting data on the participant journeys. This will include the number of young people who enter employment through the scheme. Findings from the evaluation of the scheme will be published in due course.
