Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many NHS staff have died from covid-19 since March 2020.

Data published by the Office for National Statistics’ shows that between 9 March 2020 and 7 May 2021, there were 639 registered deaths involving COVID-19 among healthcare workers and 922 deaths among social care workers in England aged 20 to 64 years old, using last known occupation. The definition of healthcare workers includes both those employed in the National Health Service and wider healthcare sector workers.
