Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps her Department is taking to ensure that the provisions of the Water (Special Measures) Act relating to bonus payments are observed by the water industry.

Ofwat will report later this year on its assessment of compliance with the bonus rules for 2025-26 performance-related executive pay. We will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the bonus rules. Ofwat will be reviewing the bonus rules to assess if and how the rules should be tightened.
