Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate he has made of the likely timescale for making mega stent technology for heart surgery available on the NHS.

We have made no such estimates.

We welcome any new technology that may improve patient care, however, more information and data is needed on the development of technology such as the Onyx XL, for example through the ongoing study involving Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, before the extent to which it is applicable to the National Health Service can be determined.
