Home Office Ministers have regular meetings with the leadership of Police Federation of England and Wales where issues affecting officers are discussed.

Racist abuse directed at police officers is wholly unacceptable and has no place in our society. The Government is determined to tackle all forms of hate crime and discrimination wherever they occur. Police officers and staff should be able to carry out their duties free from intimidation, hatred and abuse, and we recognise the impact that such behaviour can have on wellbeing.

The Government remains committed to supporting the welfare of the police workforce and to promoting a policing culture that is fair, inclusive and respectful, helping to attract and retain talented people from all backgrounds. We continue to work with police leaders to ensure that the right support is in place for officers and staff throughout their career.
