Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the answer of 9 October 2026 to Question 22075 on Asylum: Finance, whether empty homes will be used and re-purposed to provide asylum accommodation for this programme.

The Home Office is working across government to explore innovative models of asylum accommodation that achieve value for money and support asylum system reform and further detail will be provided in due course. New council housing will not be used by asylum seekers under any circumstances.
